Dormer K Learning Centre
Dormer K was organized in 2006 as a joint Kenyan-Canadian undertaking. It is located in Chavakali, Western Kenya, one of the poorest areas in thecountry. It has a lending library for teachers in the area and kindergarten children. Older children can read the texts in the Centre. It also has 6 laptops for teaching computing skills. A sewing room where street girls are taught a skill provides school uniforms, re-usable sanitary pads, and book bags at cost. It also earns money sewing clothes, shopping bags, and coin purses.
